ABOUT ERIC MOSLEY

“When the first Black yoga teacher that I ever had told me to ‘take up space,’ it really clicked. It was the first time that I felt seen inside of a yoga studio.”

Eric Mosley is a Yoga Alliance registered yoga and meditation teacher, educator, and diversity & inclusion consultant on a mission to decolonize the western wellness experience and encourage all people, particularly people of color, to bring their most authentic selves to their mats. With a background in education and school leadership spanning over 10 years, he launched Black Mat Yoga to address identity based inequities in wellness spaces.

By using current events, curated playlists, physical asana, and meditation, Black Mat Yoga specializes in creating conditions in which practitioners feel safe and connected on their mats. Since launching, Eric has worked with yogis of all ages in studios, private lessons, schools and corporate settings.

Eric integrates the nuances of his identity and his experiences as an educational leader in his offerings. His passion for social-emotional learning, data-driven instruction, and the intersections of race, gender and sexuality, allows Eric to "make it make sense" making yoga accessible to newer and seasoned yogis.

Eric is a Morehouse College graduate, received his Masters in Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education, and completed his 200 hour teacher training at Three Sisters Yoga in New York City.
